2015 - a reflection

December 31, the day we reflect on where we are now, how we got here and where we want to be.   We promise ourselves that we will let go of habits and patterns that no longer serve us.   From January 1 we make intentions to wipe the slate clean, start afresh, and manifest a new reality for ourselves.  This time last year, Yoga Journey didn’t exist.  It was a deeply buried intention, which I had no idea how to bring into existence.  On my yoga training, last February, under the inspirational guidance from Its Yoga International and Its Yoga Firenze, Yoga Journey became reality.

During the past 6 months, creating and maintaining yogajourney.ie, a Facebook page, Instragram page and Twitter account has been an amazing and difficult learning curve.  My biggest hurdle was getting comfortable about posting images of imperfect me, doing imperfect poses on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  However, by trusting and following a practice that inspires me daily, I have been privileged to share this practice with some amazing yogis.  There are no words that can express how grateful I am to these yogis for their support.  I am also very grateful to be surrounded by family and friends and mentors who have inspired and guided me.

My intention for 2016 is to keep moving forward.   I quote Confucius, ‘It doesn’t matter how slowly you move as long as you do not stop.’

On this eve of new beginnings, choose intentions that will serve you every day.   Choose to let go of what doesn’t serve you, let go of grudges, stress, negative self-talk.  Choose kindness, generosity; choose to be present in the moment where everything is happening.  Choose to be excited about the present moment and most importantly of all, choose yoga.   Choose to listen to your heart and to use your yoga mat for your very own yoga journey.

I look forward to meeting you on a mat soon.

My Its Yoga Teachers.  It wouldn't have happened without them.
